A private contractor damaged a sanitary sewer line near a storm drain that leads to Lake Lawne late last week that released an estimated 50 gallons of sanitary waste

Due to the elevated fecal coliform counts caused by the leakage, the City’s Streets and Stormwater Division have issued an alert around the perimeter of Lake Lawne [GMap]. complete with warning signs asking for all water activities to cease until further notice.

The City’s Water Reclamation Division worked with the private contractors to repair the damaged line and to prevent any further seepage.

You can call the Lake Alert number, 407-246-2220, for the most up-to-date information regarding your lake. During weekdays, the City’s Lake Alert website, www.cityoforlando.net/lakealert will also have the latest information.
