Cave is known for his practice in exploring with a variety of color and texture and a variety of found objects and mixed mediums. His soundsuits are made using everyday objects like buttons, toys, textiles, and porcelain figures, in the form of wearable, indigenous-like regalia or Mardi Gras costumes. The term “soundsuits” refers to the swooshing noise his suits can make when they are worn by dancers and performing artists.

An exhibition opening reception will be held on September 14 from 6:30-8 p.m. and will feature a cash bar, complimentary soft drinks, and an opportunity to meet the artist, Nick Cave. Following the reception, a gourmet dinner will be served in the gallery that concludes with a tour of the exhibition. Tickets to the dining event are $150 per person and very limited.
