WPRK began booking this show as a celebration of returning to the air, but the discovery of an Eagle’s nest at the prospective new home of our antennae has pushed back our return to FM broadcasting. Instead of abandoning this show, we’ve decided to partner with IDEAS for Us to launch a new concert series called Frequencies. The goal of this series is for WPRK to partner with members of the community to present local music and bring awareness to issues impacting the Orlando area.

Keynote from Clayton Louis Ferrara of IDEAS for Us
The first Frequencies will highlight the need for an Urban Wildlife Plan for Orlando, a project that IDEAS for Us is championing. IDEAS will be working with National Wildlife Federation to certify 300+ homes in the city limits to be official Urban Wildlife habitats. Each Urban Wildlife habitat must provide food, shelter, water, and a place for lifecycles as a mandatory criterion. IDEAS will also be laying out demands for everything you could think of, from a feral dog and cat policy to a list of native plants that will be mandatory outside city buildings. Frequencies will be your source for information and a pathway to get directly involved with this project.
As we prepare to broadcast once again, you can still tune into WPRK online at http://www.wprk.org/listenlive
Proceeds from this event will directly benefit WPRK and IDEAS for US.
