The various Orlando Main Streets will each host a cocktail contest to designate a signature cocktail for their Main Street.
Tonight the College Park Partnership will host their contest for the partnership members at Truffles and Trifles at 5:30 p.m. on Edgewater Dr. College Park bartenders will compete for the the award of the College Park Signature Cocktail. This Bungalower is more than delighted to be judging (may have to try each one a couple of times to decide) the event. The event is free for members and $5 for guests.
Audubon Park Garden District was the first to have their contest were they selected the Audubon Park Flip (shown in the photo above).
The rest of the Main Streets will host theirs between now and the end of September. On October 29 at the annual Orlando Main Street Awards at the Historic Dubsdread Ballroom.
Here is when and how the other main streets will pick their cocktail:
Ivanhoe Village – The Ultimate Ivanhoe Cocktail Challenge will be Monday, Sept. 23, 8pm at The Hammered Lamb and Blue will be hosting. They are inviting the bars in the neighborhood to create a cocktail for the event. They’ll post more on their Facebook page as it gets closer.
Mills 50 – They are taking entries until September 14. The winner gets a $100 bar tab to The Peacock Room. September 24 at 6pm, pay $10 at the door and you will be able to judge the recipes. More info on the Mills 50 Mix Up Facebook event.
Church Street – The Church Street District will be doing a virtual contest. Each participant will create a drink and we will encourage people to post their picture on Facebook and the venue with the most posts will be our signature cocktail for one year. Keep your eye on their Facebook page for more information.
Thornton Park – Will hold their contest on September 31 at Dexters. More info on their Facebook page.
Downtown South – The recipes are due this Friday. The finalist will be highlighted at our Thursday, September 19th Fall Social and business and residential members will have the final vote on which recipe will be the Signature Cocktail of Downtown South. Click here for the entry form.
