Eternal Tap at 116 W Church St (at Gertrude’s Walk) in downtown Orlando is now closed [GMap].
We aren’t quite sure on why or if they plan to re-open. We have attempted to reach out to them but their voicemail is full and they aren’t responding to emails.
Their last Facebook and Twitter posts are from September 8.
Eternal Tap opened just under a year ago and more recently opened their whiskey cellar. The bar occupied the space next to Hamburger Marry’s.

It was a tough location, but they could’ve done a lot more with the interior layout. It is such an big awesome space, and it seems like they couldn’t handle the size. For a while it seemed very unfinished along with mediocre branding that didn’t take advantage of the history and style of the building. Aside from that, they had a great beer selection and good food.
It was in a very odd location. We went in there one time on a Friday night, not too early, but not late either, and there was hardly anyone in there. I went for the beer, but wasn’t too impressed with their selection. Don’t get me wrong, they had a lot of craft beers, but nothing I hadn’t had before.
We went to The Woods right after that, and they only had five crafts on draft, but I hadn’t had any of them before. The ones I tried were excellent. That was a well-curated draft list. As well, at that time, Eternal Tap had 4 different drafts from a “craft beer” that’s actually produced by a major brewer trying to pass it off as craft. I don’t think that went down too well with the craft drinkers in town, who you would need to support you if you wanted to be associated with craft beer.
Ultimately, though, I think it was the location that did them in, along with the non-support by the craft beer community.
Oh no! I loved that place. I know they had a hard time getting traffic where they were located. Some of the staff left to focus on their new location in Jacksonville.
