Ivanhoe Village is the latest Orlando Main Street to turn their utility boxes into art.

Ivanhoe Village is doing their utility box art project a little different in that all of the boxes will be painted by local artist Andrew Spear.

The subject matter for all of them will relate to the neighborhood and its history.

“The first box is honoring Paul Wegman, who worked for every theatre in the neighborhood (except newbie The Venue) including doing Scrooge at the power plant one year, and also doing a play at a small theatre on Virginia,” Ivanhoe Village Director Scottie Campbell told Bungalower.

The main street has identified nine boxes in Ivanhoe Village to paint and an additional four in the Health Village/Florida Hospital area of Ivanhoe Village. Ivanhoe Villiage is working with Florida Hospital to allow the utility boxes on hospital property to be painted. You can imagine the rich history of the hospital that can be used as inspiration.

The subject matter of the other boxes is still to be determined.

What Ivanhoe history would you want to see on the utility boxes?
