Pig Floyd’s Smokehouse (Facebook) plans to open in Mills 50 at 1326 N Mills Ave [GMap].
The location was formerly Atilla’s Steak & Salad Turkish Cuisine.
Pig Floyd’s is a concept from Thomas Ward, the creator of The Treehouse Truck.
Ward tells Bungalower that they plan to offer a new approach to barbecue.
“We’re not going to be like every other barbecue place,” Ward said.
He says they’ll have silverware, glassware, a chef-created menu and great service.
“Our mission is to strive for lagniappe, a little something extra, for our customers. We’ll do this by offering personal attention, a points system that works for you, and special events for our guests,” he added.
And lets not forget about the food.
“There will be no freezers. And no cattle lines. There will be hand-cut fries, custom handmade sausage, a distinctive selection of beer and real corn on the cob with the husk. So skip the cattle lines, have a seat, meet the owner, and enjoy some real barbecue,” said Ward.
They anticipate opening late February/early March. We’ll keep you posted on their progress.
