This afternoon Mayor Buddy Dyer will officially open and dedicate the City’s newest public park in honor of City employee Kevin R. Tyjeski who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year.

The park is located at the new Sky House Apartments Corner of North Magnolia Avenue and Livingston Street in Downtown.

Tyjeski spent most of his 18 year career with the City of Orlando as a planner. You can read more about him here.

The park area was sold to the city by the developer of SkyHouse for $10.

The opening was timed with the grand opening of the SkyHouse apartments. You can flip through a photo tour of the SkyHouse Apartments here.

  1. i worked with kevin on several projects when i was president of the college park neighborhood association and merchants association. kevin was a pleasure to know and work with.

  2. Nothing signed yet. It’s supposed to be a restaurant/cafe. I think that will be one of the last spaces to fill up.
