Orlando Mixtape vol. 2 Poster

On January 30 The Urban Think Foundation and The Downtown Orlando Foundation are hosting a unique benefit concert, Orlando Mix Tape vol. 2 and a pre-event Bourbon Trail.

The event is pretty unique. Essentially you’ll be able to send in your favorite songs and the River Bottom Nightmare Band will play bluegrass covers of selected song, creating a mix tape for Orlando at the Social.

Prior to the event there is a VIP portion which includes craft bourbon cocktails at The Courtesy Bar, The Woods, and Finn Henry’s, featuring Bulleit Bourbon, Dickle Rye, and Elijah Craig 12 Year Whiskey.

Organizer Giti Khalsa says they are building on the success of last year’s event.

“I’ve played music my whole life – been to so many cool shows as well as fundraising concerts – we created Mix Tape because while there are no shortage of “benefit” concerts, I’d never heard of one where the band played a set list created by the audience,” he told Bungalower.

As if that wasn’t enough to get you there, the event benefits the Urban Think Foundation. The foundation builds and supports creative, educational, and culture-building programs for Orlando, including children’s literacy program Page 15, and independent literary press Burrow Press.

Tickets to Mix Tape are $25 and the Bourbon Trail is $75 which also includes admission to Mix Tape.
