One Less Car One More Park

The Thornton Park District will work with local businesses and the city to transform fourteen parking spaces on Central Blvd tomorrow into gather spaces for residents.

This is the second time the City is creating the One Less Car, One More Park event.

Fourteen businesses will convert the on-street metered spaces into parklets and green areas with a goal of showing the positive impact of walking, biking or using public transit to get to work and leaving your vehicle at home.

When you visit the parks tomorrow you can vote for your favorite. The winner will receive a trophy made from a recycled parking meter.

The City is encouraging residents and employees to bring one fewer car downtown tomorrow by commuting to work using an alternative mode of transportation.

The event is from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Central Blvd on the south side of Lake Eola.

You can use Google Map transit directions to see if the Lynx bus can be a convenient option for you to get to work. Getting downtown from one of the Bungalower neighborhoods can be convenient on the bus.
