The City plans to begin removing the observation deck at Gaston Edwards Park at Lake Ivanhoe [GMap] which was damaged in a fire last month.
The fire took place on May 29. The Orlando Fire Department was alerted at 12:46 a.m. and no witnesses were present upon arrival.
The city is scheduled to begin removing the damaged deck tomorrow and have it completed by July 3.
The work will be complete in time for Red Out and Equal event taking place on July 5 at the park.
A City spokesperson tell Bungalower that discussions on the replacement are ongoing and they hope to have a plan of action completed by the end of July.
According to the article, there were no witnesses. We haven’t heard if there is an investigation into the cause or not.
