Local app development company Echo Interaction Group (Website) launched an unofficial SunRail app for the iPhone.

The app allows users to select a starting and destination station and provides the schedule information for those stations.

From the app users can report delays and see reports from other users. SunRail does not currently provide real-time information and is not available on Google Maps.

The app will show you nearby attractions within walking distance of a station.

From the app you can also see other transit options and purchase SunRail tickets.

The app is available in both english and spanish.

“We created the app as a commitment to our community and to showcase the tech and software development scene in our area,” Echo Interaction Group CEO Carlos Carbonell told Bungalower. “We would hope that others also build tools we can all use and better our engagement with public services,” he added.

An Android version is in the works.

You can download the app here on iTunes.
