The City of Orlando is installing 17 new bike racks in Downtown Orlando.

The money for the bicycle racks came from the City’s bicycle fund.

Boy Scouts from Troop 24 are helping the Downtown Clean Team to install the bike racks.

There will be a total of 17 new inverted U bike racks. Nine on Orange Ave and eight on Central Blvd.

  1. I’d love to see a bike rack like the one in College Park (the one that literally spells out “Bike Rack”) downtown. Not only provides a useful place to lock your bike but also provides some sort of public art.

  2. This is awesome, now the city should focus on completing Orlando Urban Trail/Gertrude’s Walk and hopefully build the Colonial overpass by 2016 as planned.

  3. Excited about having new bike racks! Where there is on-street parking, would be nice to have an occasional space used for a bike corral so, as biking becomes more popular, we don’t crowd our sidewalk too much.

  4. #Great addition! …. now if they’d just add a little more #scooter parking along with that…
