Event Pick: Segafredo Grand Opening this weekend

SPONSORED: Segafredo Italian cafe, restaurant, and lounge (Facebook | Website) is celebrating their Grand Opening this weekend in Mills Park [Gmap].

With international appeal, Segafredo has a lot to offer with their coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, as well as two full bars.

The coffee is provided by Segafredo’s parent company, Massimo Zanetti. The 35 year-old Italian company is one of the largest growers and roasters of coffee in the world. The Italian bean espresso offered in Segafredo is exclusive to the cafe.

Segafredo’s executive chef has an extensive background in hospitality and has helped open several large restaurants in the area including the Hard Rock Cafe. The menu at Segafredo features salads, paninis, pastas, and special Italian entrees for dinner.

The cafe is the perfect spot for happy hour with two full bars, one downstairs in the main restaurant and another upstairs on the rooftop. The rooftop is particularly interesting with an eclectic mix of furniture, a great view of the neighborhood and mature olive trees that will produce some of the olives used in the restaurant when they eventually fruit.

Segafredo also has an indoor and outdoor sound system, folding glass doors and an area for a DJ both upstairs and downstairs. On weekends, Segafredo will stay until 2 a.m. as ultralounge.

Segafredo’s management also expects to host outdoor concerts in collaboration with their neighbors, Brass Tap. The two businesses share a new park space and plaza along Mills Ave.

There are over 500 Segafredo cafes worldwide and with the opening of the Segafredo in Orlando, there are now four locations in the US. The three other cafe and lounge locations are in Miami and are very popular with both locals and tourists.
