According to the City of Orlando’s Stormwater Division (Website), a faulty bypass pump near the intersection of Clay Avenue and Westminster Street has released approximately 200 gallons of sewage into the stormwater system.

Warning signs have been posted around Lake Winyah [Gmap] as a precaution and the City will be collecting bacteria samples on a “routine basis.”

Once bacteria counts drop to acceptable State Water Quality Standards, the Lake Alert Hotline Number (407-246-2220) and the City’s Lake Alert website will be updated.
