IDEAS For Us (Facebook | Website), a local non profit that deals with sustainability issues, is a UN-recognized NGO headquartered in Winter Park. Besides hosting a community think/do tank called The Hive: Orlando (Facebook), they also operate a Fleet Farming program in partnership with East End Market.

Fleet Farming (Facebook) is a bike operated urban farming program that grows food on private properties and then sells the produce at local farmers markets. Proceeds from the program go towards community development and sustainability projects.

Credit Card Builders (Website), a Tampa-based company, recently pledged $10,000 to IDEAS for their Fleet Farming program through an initiative called One Percent for the Planet (Website) that redirects a percentage of a company’s sales, not profits, towards a participating sustainability-oriented non-profit.

The next Fleet Farming “Swarm Ride” is 2p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1 at East End Market. Riders are asked to bring their own helmets, gloves and water.
