A new espresso bar/furniture store will be coming to the previously coffee-starved Mills 50 district [Gmap] by the end of the month.
The owners of the shop, Brittany and Travis Reed, have been selling mid-century and some custom-made furniture through their Etsy shop of the same name (Website) since 2013 and are now branching out to brick and mortar. Both of the Reeds have a history in customer service and food and beverage.
Travis’s enthusiasm for coffee comes from a stint at Starbucks. He professes an interest in bringing back the craft of coffee making.
The hybrid coffee shop and furniture store is similar to the model that the Imperial at Washburn Imports (Facebook | Website) where all of the furniture in use is for sale, but they will not be selling beer or wine – at least to begin with.
The space, previously the home of a bridal store, has been completely gutted, primped and is currently being polished by the young couple. Bungalower will be posting a photo tour of the space once the furniture has arrived (at the time of our visit the furniture had been delayed due to bad weather up north) to give a better feel of the finished space.
The Reeds will be including more retail from other vendors in their shop as well as selling DIY cactus “propagation” kits that their shop is named after.
They assure us it will have Wi-Fi but they’ve also entertained the idea of making it a tech-free space where “people will have to actually look each other in the face.”
More information on the Propagation spot to come in the near future.
Umm starbucks? Who will they be roasting? Do they have any coffee experience?

Vanessa I think you’re talking about the same space that Stephen was just talking about. If that’s case it’s going to be a pharmacy.
I’d like to work with them selling my vintage boat style bars at Baugher Boat Works.

What’s going in where they are renovating a building? East side of mills north of 50
It’s going to be a pharmacy. We’ll be writing about it soon.
Anyone know what is happening at the Mills50 intersection? The building is now painted (or primed) and looks almost done.

That’s a great choice. Bart has been holding that plaza fort down for awhile now. There’s not enough coffee lounge spaces in booze town.
They were anything but stuffy. I’m sure they’ll have Wi-Fi and were just joking.
Jennifer Flug Gemma Mullen perfect!!!
I hope they don’t decide on a tech free space. No one wants a stuffy place where the business tells you how to act.
diggin those succulent flower boxes.
