Orlando’s Ace Cafe (Facebook | Website) has received approval from the City’s Appearance Review Board to move forward with Phase II of their development.

We told you in January about the zoning adjustment that’s allowed them to move forward with Phase I.

According to the City’s staff report on the project, Phase II is focused on the renovation of an existing barn into an event space, the renovation of another existing structure into a restroom facility, and the addition of shipping containers for additional seating and vantage points. An event lawn will be at the center of Phase II and connect all three spaces.

Phase II sits in the southeast corner of the Ace Cafe project site.

Construction on Phase I has already begun. Here is drone flyover of the site:

Here are some more renderings from Phase II:

  1. I love this idea…the only reservation I have is the sound of motorcycles downtown Orlando will be deafening…and omnipresent.

  2. I am so excited about the reuse and renovation of the existing historic structures on this lot that have sat vacant for decades.  I could comment on the clumsy use of the parking lot here, but I think the pros outweigh the cons with this development.  This will certainly bring some out-of-towners to our city center who may otherwise have not ventured this far north from the attractions.
