Construction on Bumby Avenue has only just begun, and the street has been closed to through traffic for almost three months.
But apparently, some people haven’t gotten the message.
Traffic has been asked to use marked detours on either side of Bumby for the next two years of the project, yet vehicles have continued to ignore the marked routes. Therefore, effective June 18th, the intersection of Bumby and Illiniois has been closed for the duration of the construction project. Vehicle traffic will no longer be able to access Bumby from Illinois.
Residents will still be able to access their driveways.
