The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts announced today that the planned third theater will be breaking ground in May of next year, due to a generous gift from Chuck Steinmetz and Margery Pabst Steinmetz.
Steinmetz Hall will seat 1,700 people and will be the new home of the Orlando Ballet and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. It will feature a retractable shell and will “isolate vibration from external sources so that theatergoers hear only the sound of the performers.”

The Performing Arts Center has raised 95 percent of the projected $185 M cost of the second phase project.

The Center also announced its season lineup for the Morgan Stanley 2015/2016 Jazz series:

  • Arturo Sandoval, October 24, 2015
  • Michael Feinstein, January 29, 2016
  • Patti LaBelle, February 20, 2016
  • Tony Bennett, March 9, 2016
