Midnight Pizza on Orange Ave [GMap] has closed, becoming the second downtown pizza joint (following Church Street’s Chicago’s Stuffed Pizza) to fold in recent weeks. The shop has removed all exterior Midnight Pizza labeling, and windows have been mostly taped over, but a peek through the cracks revealed an almost empty space.

According to Panino’s Pizza (Website), a rival pizza shop directly across Orange Ave from where Midnight Pizza once was, the shop closed due to a poor tenant-landlord relationship. Midnight Pizza was allegedly asked to leave by their landlord, citing lack of renovation as the prime reason for the final dispute.

Fortunately for pizza lovers near the Pine Street – Orange Ave hub, Panino’s Pizza (GMap) is still kicking.

Editor’s Note: None of this has been confirmed by either the landlord or Midnight Pizza. We are still trying to learn what will be replacing Midnight Pizza.
