recap!

Orlando City seems to be back on the right path after a rocky July, with a big 5-2 win against the Columbus Crew this past weekend.

The Lions offense was explosive after an early Crew goal. Rookie striker Cyle Larin answered the deficit with his tenth goal of the season. He would go on to score again before match-end. Darwin Ceren, Cristian Higuita, and Aurelien Collin all had goals in the win as well, for Higuita, his first of the season.

The Crew’s second goal came off the head of Lion’s defender Aurelien Collin late in the game, though the own goal was irrelevant at that point.

Orlando City will head up north to take on Toronto FC this Wednesday, before returning home to battle the Philadelphia Union on Saturday. Hopefully the victory this weekend will restore the Lion’s confidence as they seek to regain playoff contention.

Orlando moved up to seventh in the standings, just ahead of NYCFC, after a loss-filled July dropped them to eighth.
