The City of Orlando has announced an expansion of the Police Department’s IRIS safety camera program with the installation of eight new cameras in the Parramore community.

There are already over 170 IRIS cameras that are already located throughout the City, including locations in Parramore, Lake Eola, Downtown, Semoran Boulevard, MetroWest and International Drive.

The new cameras further the City’s continued efforts to revitalize the Parramore neighborhood and the City believes they have contributed, in part to a 36 percent drop in crime there since 2005. The expansion of the IRIS camera program is also part of the Parramore Comprehensive Neighborhood Plan to improve public safety.
