David Weekley Homes (Website) is eyeing up property between Winter Park Village and Park Avenue as a potential site for a new neighborhood called Park West.

The Houston-based company is looking to build 12 new single-family homes according to a recent post by the Orlando Business Journal. The homes in Park West would average between 2,000-2,500 SF and would be located near Park Avenue’s shopping district. The OBJ states that the homes will have craftsman-style exteriors with urban-style floor plans.

At the time of this post, David Weekley Homes (DWH) had no renderings of the property that they could share publicly, but the City of Winter Park informed us DWH were looking at locating their development at the intersection of West Canton Avenue and North Capen Avenue [GMap].

  1. Yes! That’s good to hear , and jeez please let’s make housing over there happen, loved dancing in that building and god it’s beautiful !✌?️?

  2. Are you talking about the former ballet building/OUC power plant? It’s not set to be demolished. They’re in the process of treating the pollution plume under the building and then waterproofing it against intruding groundwater. We hope someone makes it into residences or something too, when they’re finished!

  3. Today my hubby and I were talking about the dance studio inside of the light and power building on Ivanhoe and how cool and Brooklyn brownstone some apartments in the set to be demolished building would be, any one agree?
