Used book lovers may have received an email this week carrying the bad news that Milk District cultural staple, the Book Worm [GMap], would be closing.
We stopped by and the owner told us that the building was being sold from under them. Since they had previously moved three times already, they weren’t interested in trucking the books to another new location and were calling it quits.
We’re not sure what will be happening with the location once they’ve left, but we will try to stay abreast of the situation.
In the meantime, the shop is selling everything at rock-bottom prices. Comics, DVDs, CDs, LPs and Soft cover books are $1, hard covers are $2, and all furnishings are for sale as well, simply make an offer.
The closing date hadn’t been set at the time of this post, but it is expected to happen in the next few weeks.
If you had credit there, they aren’t ” honoring ” it. I’m sorry they are going out of business, but it’s not a very nice approach of sticking it to their regular customers!
Yeah, I know. Just a thought.
They’ve been open for quite some time – so we’re assuming they sell online as well. They’re not closing due to financial hardship.
I saw this! So… when are you taking me?
We have to go
Alycia Marie definitely going to look for books
Let’s go get a book for our trip!
I always wondered how they could stay in business selling books for pocket change.
