This Saturday Downtown Orlando will host a night of free art and performances by some of the Florida’s best artists and art organizations.
On October 17 from 6-11 p.m, Orlando residents and visitors will have the opportunity to see performances from Cirque du Soleil, Central Florida Community Arts Orchestra, Red Bull BC One BBoys, and more. The free event will take place along Orange Avenue, from Central to Robinson.
There will also be a number of artists along the route, one of whom is installing a 100 foot mural on the side of the Southern Bank building. The mural is already under construction but it will be finished during the event. On the night of the Creative City Project, a 5 movement musical piece will be played live in conjunction with the mural’s unveiling.
Other activities include:
The Ryder Interactive Village features a different interactive installation in each of 10 Ryder Trucks. The installations are a mix of visual art, performance art, and immersive projection installations.
Orlando Ballet will be presenting collaborations with both Cirque du Soleil and the jazz group, The Cook Trio, as well as selections from their upcoming season.
A Creative City Project App is now available for iOS for attendees to better navigate this year’s event. Available in the iTunes App Store.
