Local tech company, Telemetree, Inc. (Website) has just announced the launch of Distrx, a mobile marketing application using iBeacon technology that will provide personalized greetings and promotional offers from merchants in shopping and entertainment districts to people as they enter a neighborhood.

Telemetree has identified ten Central Florida districts for their initial roll out and will be beta testing in five districts beginning in October. Following the beta test, the completed iOS and Android apps will be available for free download from the App Store and Google Play (initially offering Central Florida content only).

Distrx (Facebook) offers district visitors the ability to receive targeted, personalized offers and the option to like the ones most valuable to them, letting merchants know which of their efforts are the most effective.

With the Distrx app, visitors to a participating district receive an initial welcome greeting upon entering the district, with a list of participating merchants. As visitors approach an individual store location, the app displays a greeting and promotional offer. Using the Distrx GreetSmart customer portal, merchants can create and change their greetings as often as they like and even create recurring day-of-week and time-of-day offers that then trigger automatically at the appropriate day and time.

Telemetree, Inc. recently launched an iBeacon-powered historical tour in downtown Mount Dora which was covered by the Orlando Sentinel HERE.
