This Friday there will be a benefit for local writer hub/historic site the Kerouac Project of Orlando (Website), in New York.
Beat poet Jack Kerouac spent some time in the College Park home in the late ’50s. The house has since become a place where resident authors can stay and work on their writing projects.
The benefit will include readings of Kerouac’s work and performances by names like John Ventimiglia from “The Sopranos,” Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth, and composer David Amram, among others.
The event begins at 7 p.m. on Friday at Joe’s Pub in Manhattan [GMap].
