We reported on the closure of Whitewood Mediterranean Grill in mid-September following six consecutive reports of health inspectors finding hundreds of roaches on-site. Weeks after that posting, the restaurant’s windows were covered with brown paper and construction began inside the space [GMap]. It’s now been announced that Whitewood will now become Baba’s Orlando Mediterranean Grill (Website).

The Baba’s website boasts a familiar claim to “fresh” and “healthy” food options much like the former Whitewood slogan. At the time of this post, we had yet to confirm if the restaurant was still under the same ownership.

No word yet on an actual opening date, but the website says “coming soon.”

  1. The poster looks like it’s the same ownership, just under a different name / DBA to ‘clear out’ the awful food handling practices and health inspections that exemplified Whitewood.
    I won’t be going there.
