UPDATE: The Lake Alert issued for Clear Lake has been lifted.  Resume normal activities on the Lake.

The City of Orlando Streets and Stormwater Division has issued an alert for Clear Lake [GMap].

According to the alert, City Wastewater staff dealt with an overflow of approximately 10 gallons of sanitary waste on Thursday, December 17 that was caused by a clogged sanitary line on private property.

City staff has posted signs along the boat ram and canal in Barker Park and have taken fecal coliform samples to measure the impact of the spill.

As a health precaution, the City is advising that all water contact activities cease until further notice.

For further information regarding the sewer overflow, please contact Athena Tipaldos, Wastewater Compliance Program Manager, at [email protected].  For water quality questions, please contact Lisa Lotti, Stormwater Compliance Program Manager, at [email protected].
