City Council approved an agreement in November to hire a live-in caretaker at Bill Frederick Park [GMap].

Bill Frederick Park is a 183-acre park near Turkey Lake. It is regularly rated as one of the top fishing spots in the State and is a legal camping ground. It has five rental cabins, tent pitches, and 36 RV camping spaces.

There is also limited horse boarding available.

The City owns a single family residence inside the park that is now to be used to house an on-site caretaker. In exchange for use of the residence at no cost, the caretaker must provide basic security services and other duties detailed in their year-long agreement. Click HERE for the agreement.

Maintenance of the lawn and landscaping is the responsibility of the City, but overall the house itself must be taken care of by the caretaker. That entails maintenance of the household appliances and fixtures.

This is a contract position, the caretaker is not an actual City employee.

Occupancy is scheduled to end on December 31, 2016.
