Two Citrus Bowl-adjacent apartment complexes are about to be razed in order to build a new multi-family community with apartments and senior-living options. The land is owned by Lift Orlando Community Land LLC.

LIFT Orlando (Website), a non-profit organization that focuses on “breaking the cycle of poverty through neighborhood revitalization” and is comprised of local business leaders from groups like CNL Financial, Florida Citrus Sports, SeaWorld, Florida Hospital, and Orlando Health.

According to a report by the Orlando Business Journal, the construction will be completed in two phases. The first will focus on erecting 200 apartments and the second will create 120 units for seniors. The new 16-acre community will be called The Villages at West Lake [GMap].

The demolition will take place on Tuesday, January 5 at 12:45 p.m.
