Orlando’s literary community will be uniting for an all-day conference on Saturday, February 27, presented by the writing podcast, the Drunken Odyssey with John King (Website), in collaboration with publishers Burrow Press and Beating Windward, reading series There Will Be Words and Functionally Literate, as well as BookmarkIt, Writer’s Atelier, and the Kerouac Project.

The talented line-up includes names like Rollins College professor Julian Chambliss presenting “Comics and the American Experience” and Stetson University professor Terri Witek, participating in a panel on “Contemporary Poetics.”

All proceeds from the event will go to Page 15, a Parramore-based children’s literacy nonprofit that provides free tutoring and creative writing programs to children.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday February 27 at the Gallery at Avalon Island in Downtown Orlando [GMap]. Tickets are $25 each ($15 for students) and are available for purchase HERE. Attendance will be capped at 80 attendees.
