Park Cafe & Bakery (Website) has opened in the former home of Extract Juice Bar in Winter Park’s Hannibal Square [GMap].

The new Turkish restaurant/Mediterranean bakery is owned by Mehmet Gurkaynak, formerly of Shish.Co Mezze & Grill (Facebook) in Maitland. The shop will be open for breakfast and lunch only. Seating is outdoor, sidewalk cafe style.

For die-hard Turkish cuisine lovers, this shop has some hard-to-find specialties like manti (Turkish raviolis – pictured below), simit (something like if a pretzel and a sesame seed bagel had a baby), and traditional Turkish breakfast plates consisting of olives, jam, honey, nutella, feta cheese, apricots and more. They also offer authentic Turkish chay (tea) served in glass tulip glasses.

Extract Juice closed both their Winter Park and Downtown Orlando locations this past October. More on that HERE.

Manti (pictured) is a traditional Turkish dish, somewhat like ravioli.

  1. Their first week open I had a simit and turkish coffee for breakfast. They were baking the simit so it came hot out of the oven and really good. Even though it’s not specifically a bagel, I’d put it next to Bagel King and above Davis Bakery in Orlando’s best.
