The City of Orlando is looking for a new Director of Sustainability following former Director Jon Ippel’s recent departure for a position with local solar company ESA Renewables (Website).

The new Director will be responsible for the oversight of all City sustainability efforts, policies, and practices. They implement the Green Works Community Action initiatives and directives.

The Director of Sustainability reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and supervises two professional staff members and interns.

Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental management, environmental engineering, urban planning, architecture, business administration, public administration, public administration, and/or another related field. Master degree preferred. They must also have six years of sustainability related experience, with at least two years in a management position. LEED GA certification is highly desirable.

The salary ranges from $72,238 to $117,561 depending on experience.
