The City of Orlando will be joining ore than 172 countries and 7,000 cities form Earth Hour on March 19 from 8:30-9:30 p.m. on March 19. During that hour, the City will turn off the lights to the Lake Eola Fountain, SEE Art Orlando sculptures and any non-essential lights in our City-owned buildings to raise awareness about energy conservation and climate change.
Local residents and businesses that are able, are encouraged to join the movement and turn off all non-essential lights in homes and places of business at that same time.
This is the kickoff to the City’s Earth Month activities that will lead up to Earth Day on April 22.
