- Go for a scenic walk around Lake Baldwin on the 2.56-mile loop. Harbor Park, 2380 Lake Baldwin Lane.
- See some art at the 6th Annual Kidsfest in the Audubon Park Garden District is April 23. Audubon Park Garden District, 1603 East Winter Park Road.
- Picnic in the Park at the 24.6-acre Demetree Park. Demetree Park, 650 Santiago Avenue.
- Explore a botanical oasis at Leu Gardens; 50-acres of beautiful plants in Audubon Park. Leu Gardens offers free admission on May 2 and June 6. Leu Gardens, 1920 North Forest Avenue.
- Go fish at Lake Underhill Park, one of the best places in town to catch largemouth bass. Quick tip: during spring the best place to land a bass is near the bank, in about five to eight feet of water, with soft plastic bait. Lake Underhill Park, 4355 Lake Underhill Road.
- Don’t miss the 27th annual Spring Fiesta on April 2-3. This event includes more than 200 artist and craft booths along with a children’s area and live entertainment. Spring Fiesta in the Park, Lake Eola Park, 512 East Washington Street
- Go mountain biking at the newly opened Lake Druid Park. The park has three different tracks to pick from: the pump track, single track trail and junior pump track for the kids. The park also has a fenced dog run. Lake Druid Park, 899 Coy Drive.
- Lunch at Loch Haven and then visit a museum or a performing arts center. Loch Haven Cultural Park, 777 East Princeton Street.

- Take a swim at one of the City’s four year-round pools; College Park Pool, Dover Shores Pool, James R. Smith Pool, or Wadeview Pool. City of Orlando Pools
- Head down to the Mills 50 Main Street District to check out all the hand-painted boxes. The majority of the boxes are located down Mills Avenue and East Colonial Drive, so take a look at the map and find them all. Mills 50 Art Box Project, Mills 50 District.
- Take a trip to Greenwood Urban Wetlands near Downtown. Greenwood Urban Wetlands is a 19-acre park filled with tall Cypress trees and a lake surrounded by a pave walking trail. - Get your art on at Mennello which offers a Free Family Day on the second Sunday of every month. Mennello Museum of American Art, 900 East Princeton Street.
- Movie nights at Lake Eola Park’s East Lawn. This spring Movieola is bringing you Inside Out on April 29 and Goosebumps on May 27. Movieola will continue into the summer with Cinderella, Jurassic World, and Minions. Movieola at Lake Eola Park, 512 East Washington Street
- Play a game of volleyball at Orlando Festival Park, which has four beach volleyball courts.Orlando Festival Park, 2911 East Robinson Street
- Dance your way through College Park at the College Park Partnership’s annual block party, Dancing on the Drive, on April 30. With vendors, food trucks and a DJ spinning hits from the 1960s through today. The event costs $5 donation to attend. Dancing on the Drive, College Park Partnership
- Check out Joe Kittinger Park located on the edge of Orlando Executive Airport. It was named after an Orlandoan that took a hot air balloon into space, and jumped. More on that HERE. Joe Kittinger Park, 305 South Crystal Lake Drive
- Take a bike ride on the Cady Way Trail a 6.5 mile run through Baldwin Park, Winter Park and Orange County which connects to the Seminole County line. Cady Way Trail
- Explore the Ivanhoe Village Main Street District on April 2 during Virginia Drive Live. Virginia Drive Live, Ivanhoe Village.
- Grab your phone to view or print out the Downtown Orlando Historical Walking Tour Map and you are ready to go. The tour includes buildings dating all the way back to the late 1800s. Downtown Orlando Historic Walking Tour
You forgot: wasting time at poorly synced traffic lights. Always free. And definitely a defining feature of the city.
