UPDATE – The winner of the Entrepreneurship Competition was Judi Legler, with her Synced + Social concept

The final round of the Rosen College Entrepreneurship Competition will be held on Wednesday, April 20 at Rosen College on Universal Boulevard. Firehouse Subs CEO, Don Fox, will be addressing the winners at the beginning of the event.

The winners of the competition will walk away with $10,000 in cash and prizes to help launch their new businesses.

The finalists include:

  • Shane Carman, a junior, wants to open a family-oriented hotel chain that will donate 50 percent of its net profits to not-for-profit youth programs.
  • Jose Maria Bilbao Cunha Joia, a graduate student, and Tiago Rodrigues want to open a wine bar/restaurant concept.
  • Judi Legler, a junior, wants to start a social media marketing and consulting company focused on small businesses and local corporations in the hospitality industry.
  • John C. Swoboda Jr., a senior, wants to start a photo booth rental company.
