The Thread is a column by Anna Christmas, a style consultant who recently moved back to Orlando, that looks at the who, what, and wear of Orlando’s fashion scene
Sitting in an open Italian bistro sipping cappuccinos, pondering the Prosecco and talking life with Matt Dean is how I entertained my afternoon. A treat? I most definitely think so. Matt brought inspiration in more ways than one. The main attraction was his fabulous, I-have-to-have-it, raw leather tote.
Dean has recently launched his handbag line by Matt Dean which features THE tote of all totes, the TOTE. The simplistic attention to detail creates a rugged yet chic ensemble that makes you want to trot through wine country or day-shop in Brooklyn. The minimal design is on-point, trend-right and year-round appropriate.
Matt Dean started his creation as a hobby. He comes from a family where creativity and business acumen are genetic. His career in the tech world around the Bay Area has given him wings to Orlando where he has stumbled upon a new love and success.
Dean uses his eye for design in other avenues too; whether designing table settings, to wardrobes, to photo shoots, he has impeccable taste.
