The City of Winter Park is hosting two upcoming public workshops to invite discussion on the current state of Denning Drive, and its future. The first meeting, will be held Thursday, May 12 with a follow-up meeting on Tuesday, June 7. Both meetings will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rachel D. Murrah Civic Center [GMap].

The May 12 meeting will have a walking component as attendees carry out an audit of Denning Drive, from a pedestrian’s point of view. After the walking tour, the participants will discuss the corridor’s capacity to accommodate all of modes of transportation. Special attention will be given to the relationship between residential properties and businesses along the corridor.

At the second meeting, Tuesday, June 7, staff will summarize the May meeting discussions as well as present sketches and concepts based on the feedback from the first workshop. Attendees at this meeting will have the opportunity to discuss, and provide input and suggestions on the information presented.

These workshops are part of the Community Redevelopment Agency’s five-year Capital Improvement Plan, with Denning Drive being one of the first projects the CRA is re-evaluating for performance, needs and possible improvements.

  1. A bike lane would be nice or anything to make it more pedestrian friendly. Also a green arrow to make lefts on morse from denning would help.
