Canadians (and allies) will have a chance to celebrate Victoria Day in Orlando this year thanks to a gaggle of Canadian expats.
Faiyaz Kara, Orlando Weekly‘s Food Critic, and Kristen Manieri of Orlando Date Night Guide, are hosting a North of the Border Bash and Poutine Palooza on May 23 (Victoria Day) at the K Restaurant Wine Bar (Facebook | Website) in College Park.
The event is a fundraiser for the Kevin Fonzo Foundation (Website), a local non-profit that teaches children about gardening and eating healthy, and will feature a poutine showdown between three Central Florida Chefs.
Participating chefs include Tim Dacey of Four Season’s Capa (Website), Hari Pulapaka of Cress Restaurant (Website), and Austin Boyd of Seito Sushi (Website).
Valhalla Bakery (Facebook) and Gezellig Cookies (Facebook) will be bringing Canadian goodies and there will be plenty of Canadian wine, beer, and whiskey to sample.
Tickets are available for purchase HERE.
Editor’s Note: Our Editor is Canadian and will be one of the lucky souls judging the poutine contest.
