University of Central Florida has wooed Tavistock Development Co.’s former vice president, Thad Seymour Jr., out of retirement and into serving as the new vice provost of UCF’s downtown campus.

Seymour was largely responsible for attracting companies like the U.S. Tennis Association and Johnson & Johnson to Lake Nona. He will now be in charge of liaising between the school, the staff, and public agencies while establishing the new 15-acre school in Creative Village, which is expected to open in the fall of 2018.
