This is the part of a series of posts by the Downtown South Main Street District. Downtown South, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, was established in the fall of 2008 by a group of local residents and business owners, who recognized its potential and wanted to make a difference in the quality of life for all.

“…Did someone say family-owned, traditional Mexican Cuisine?

Hold onto your guacamole, folks! Aiming for a July 4th opening in the Sodo Shopping Center, Colibri is on the verge of completing a remodel of its newest location, occupied by Egg & I up until last month. If you’re familiar with their original Baldwin Park location, then you already know about their multi-generational family recipes and substantial portions. If not, then you’re in for a treat!

The concept remains basically the same – traditional, family recipes perfected over decades (curated by owners Omar & Fabiola Martinez, brother and Manager Ricky Galicia, and mother Marialena Morales according to an article in the Winterpark/Maitland Observer) served with a friendly smile. New additions to their Sodo location include a small build-out in the former Egg & I space, with the biggest change being a new bar featuring updated drink options. While they don’t serve breakfast in their Baldwin Park location, they are strongly considering it for their new location.

Stay tuned for more info as it unfolds!”

  1. Are they leaving Baldwin park ? Or is this a second location? And how? Every time I’ve been it’s been underwhelming. That space in BP deserves better
