The Peachtree House estate was built in 1928 by James Gamble Rogers II for Judge C. Arthur Yergey and then Senator Elizabeth Johnson. The historic home is located on the shores of Lake Concord in College Park at 505 Peachtree Road [GMap].
The home isn’t on the Gamble Rogers registry, but as described in the video below, its suspected that it was designed as a favor, and not an official commission. It’s one of the largest projects that the architect ever designed, discounting Rollins College.
The home features custom woodwork and hand-cast plaster moldings throughout. The rooms have high ceilings and the orientation of the building allows for an east-west sun orientation that keeps the home cooler during the day.
There are six bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms in the 6,800 SF single-family home.
The asking price is $3,200,000.
