SPONSORED: PARK(ing) Day is an annual open-sourced global event where Creatives and citizens temporarily transform parking spaces into temporary public places, called “parklets.” Orlando’s PARK(ing) Day event is on September 16 in College Park. The movement was founded by in 2005 by landscape architecture firm Rebar.

The Orlando section of the Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (FLASLA), in cahoots with the College Park Partnership, will be presenting 15 parklets created by curated local groups. The parking spots will begin conversion at 8 a.m., with final viewing between 4-7 p.m.

We recommend getting takeout from one of the multiple award-winning restaurants in College Park, and bringing it to one of the fancy new spaces along Edgewater Drive that night. What could be more romantic than having a glass of wine by a parking meter?
