Bram Stoker’s Gothic horror classic, Dracula, has been adapted by the acclaimed hand of Steven Dietz, and brought to Orlando by local lover-of-the-macabre, Jeremy Seghers. The show has been staged in Carmine Boutique, an antiques, oddities, and taxidermy shop with its own Edwardian fetish club. We highlighted in last year’s Holiday Gift Guide, HERE, because of their assortment of “wet specimens” – read octopi in jars.

The audience is immersed in the show with some innovative staging, which brings the count, his brides, and the blood dangerously close to the audience, on all sides. Due to the intense nature of the production, no one under the age of 13 will be allowed to enter without a guardian.

Editor’s Note: We’ve heard a few whispers on social media that there is definitely a “splash zone” but we’re not really sure where it is. So at least you know there’s a possibility of getting some unholy ichor on your H&M cardigan. We heard Tide To-Go sticks work great with vampire offal.

The cast includes Frank Casado as Dracula, Rachel Comeau as Mina, Sean Kerrigan as Harker, Shanel Sparr as Lucy, Dennis Enos as Van Helsing, Timmy Walczak as Seward, Christian Kelty as Renfield, Brenna Arden and Ashleigh Ann Gardner as Dracula’s Brides/Nurses/Attendants/Maids, and Benjamin Dupree as Waiter/Attendant/Doctor.

Dracula is offering exclusive rush tickets to artists who have had ” a contract with any professional Orlando theatre company, but have not yet been paid.” In a subtle allusion to the Mad Cow situation, which we wrote about HERE. Tickets will be $10 cash only, and will be available in-person at the box office 30-minutes before each performance. Just tell the box office what show you never got paid for, and the offer is yours. Offer is limited to one ticket per unpaid artist and subject to availability. Once we’re sold out, we’re sold out.

To purchase full-price tickets ($23) in advance click HERE.

Carmine’s Boutique is located at 2708 North Orange Blossom Trail [GMap].
