Orlando residents can get up to two free trees per household this autumn via the Mayor’s One Person, One Tree Initiative (Website). The fall planting season is ideal for trees as it gives their root systems more time to establish themselves before the long, hot summer.
This fall, the City is offering five different tree species:
- Live Oak
- Yellow Tabebuia (Which we’ve written about previously, HERE)
- Sweetbay Magnolia
- Chinese Pistache – SOLD OUT
- Flordaprince Peach
To order your free tree online, click HERE. All trees but the Floridaprince will be delivered directly to your house.
You must sign a Utility Line agreement to not plant your tree under or near any utility lines before being allowed to order one for your property.
All City of Orlando residents can order the trees. You can use our Information Locator to verify if you are a City resident. http://www2.cityoforlando.net/orlandoinformationlocator/
Typically once your tree has been ordered it will take about 2-3 weeks before it arrives at your doorstep. If you are experiencing any delays, please email [email protected] and a staff member will be assigned to your case to assist. Glad everyone is excited about planting trees at their homes!

happened to me too. I’m so bummed! I love the yellow tabebuia trees!
I just ordered two Yellow Tabebuia trees! Thank you for sharing this!
Have an Orlando address but it says I’m not eligible. They must be pretty strict to what neighborhoods can get one.
Ordered one a million years ago and never received 🙁 Maybe I’ll have to try again.
