Eyes on the Street: Verde Mexican Soul Food is closed

-

We often get photographs from our Bungalower readers of things that are happening around town, and we have started featuring them on the site in a series called Eyes on the Street, in honor of our hero Jane Jacobs.

Hey! Looks like Verde in Thorton Park may be closed. Just a heads up. :)” – Bradley Q

Verde Cantina (Website) closed suddenly on Monday, November 7 after being open for only eleven months in the former Tijuana Flats space in Thornton Park [Gmap].

We’ve reached out to the owners for the reason behind the closure and to hear what the plans for their next steps are.

  1. I was excited for a non-chain and I love Mexican. But the food was disappointing and the prices were pretty high. Hate seeing businesses fail though.

  2. I wish I could say I’m sad to see it go, but the food was not very good and the service was horrendous.  Gave it 4 tries and each was progressively worse than the time before.  I hope another Mexican (OR GREEK!) place goes in there.  I miss Tijuana Flats.
