Stampler Auctions (Website) has been commissioned to sell off all of the assets remaining in the historic Simonet Electric space at the corner of Mills Avenue and Lake Highland Drive in the Mills 50 District [GMap].

The auction will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 6 and everything must go. There are over 1,000 fixtures still in their original boxes.

The lamp repair shop closed after the untimely death of Ray Prose. The 5,000 SF space will soon become part of the doctor’s offices that currently exist next door, contrary to what we had hoped it would be turned into in one of our past I Wish This Was columns, HERE.

We helped our friends at Laughing Samurai/Twelve21 Gallery to paint their sign behind the building when famous sign painter Kenji Nakayama was in town for an installation at the Orange Studio.

  1. Me too, Ray helped me find parts for and rewire a few mid-century modern lamps. He has a 40’s-50’s bamboo couch and chair set that are in decent condition that I wish I had room for.
