It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas! And by that, we mean we’ve had a day or two where it’s been less than 80° outside. While our friends and family in other parts of the country are experiencing a white Christmas, we’re just dreaming of one.

Because we’re States away from the real thing, a few local attractions have come up with creative alternatives to real snow that can get us through the holiday season without feeling like we’re missing out on the winter weather. Fair warning, we don’t suggest catching these “snowflakes” on your tongue like they do in the movies. Unless, of course, you enjoy the taste of soap. But it just isn’t Christmas without snow. So if you want snow in your forecast, and you’re good at playing pretend, make sure to add these stops to your holiday itinerary.

Wekiva Island

The owners of the Longwood attraction are bringing snow to the Island for the first time this holiday season. The little ones can enjoy nightly snow flurries starting around 6 p.m. and their parents can enjoy nightly happy hour specials. And these aren’t your regular run-of-the-mill snow flurries. They’re peppermint scented. (Gives it a little something extra, don’t you think?)

When: Through December 31st
Where: 1014 Miami Springs Dr, Longwood, FL 32779
For more info: 407-862-1500

RDV Sportsplex Ice Den

The Maitland-area sports club is back with its annual SNOW FEST. For $15, children ages 3 years and older can frolic in the snow and play on ice slides in addition to the year-round ice skating. Not to mention, Her Royal Highness the Ice Queen will be available for photos. You know, just in case those ones with mall Santa didn’t turn out so well.

When: December 17th
Where: 8701 Maitland Summit Blvd, Orlando, FL 32810
For more info: 407-916-2550

Celebration Town Center

If you find yourself shopping at the outlets or want to play tourist for a day, downtown Celebration hosts some of the area’s best faux-snow. Enjoy nightly snow flurries on the hour from 6-9 p.m. as well as a host of other holiday festivities. Pro tip: Stroll through the nearby neighborhoods and delight in how small your electric bill must be by comparison.

When: Through December 31st
Where: 701 Front St, Celebration, FL 34747
For more info: 407-566-4007

Light Up UCF

UCF’s 50-night holiday marathon event will have ice skating, rides, a free holiday film festival, and yes, snow. There are so many different events happening throughout the fest so be sure to check the website for up-to-date programming announcements. The snow, however, will be flying every night, starting at 6 p.m. and again every hour on the hour during the Light Up UCF light show.

When: November 18-January 7
Where:
Knights Plaza, Oviedo, FL 32765
For more info: 407-823-6062
